Things To See and Do

Come discover Surfside Beach! Just 58 miles south of Houston, Texas.

With its unspoiled shoreline, Surfside Beach, Texas is the perfect retreat for people who want to relax in a fully furnished beach house. Call us at (281) 732-8800 or send us an email.

  • Time wise, Surfside is the closest beach to Houston.
  • You’ll be near Houston and Galveston, but your family and friends will be far away from their daily routines.
  • These same beautiful locations also lend themselves to more secular uses such as business meetings or friends getting together.
  • Night Walks

A late night stroll along the waters edge can be both an adventure and a relaxing way to end the day. Grab a flashlight and the kids and go on a ghost crab hunt. Maybe you will even see Bioluminescence in the water. When Bioluminescence is exposed to oxygen it will emit light causing the waves to look like they are glowing a neon blue or green color.

  • Watch Dolphin Plays

Surfside has several pods of dolphins that can often be seen frolicking in the surf. They can often be seen about 50 to 60 yards offshore.

  • Crabbing

Crabbing enthralls young children and is fun for adults. Dangle a baited bit of string into the water and pull up hungry, scrambling crabs.

  • Fishing

Fourteen miles of freely accessible shorelines. You can usually find good fishing from the beach right in front of your house.

  • Play In The Sand

Whether you build something elaborate or quite simple, there is something wonderfully relaxing about playing in the sand.

  • Flying Kites

The Beach is PERFECT for Kite Flying. Most places on the island carry a small selection of kites or pick one up before you head down.

  • Surfing

Surfside Beach produces some of the best, most consistent surf on the upper Texas coast. It works on small swells and holds double overhead and better. Two factors are responsible for this fact: deep water and long jetties.

  • Group Yoga

    Sundays, 9:00 am

Studies show that doing yoga on a sandy beach strengthens more of the muscles in your feet, knees, legs, hips, core and shoulders – which are crucial to good posture – than you would normally in a yoga studio. Shifting sand forces the body to make small adjustments in order to maintain the posture.

  • Deep Sea Fishing

Going on a deep sea fishing trip will give you a memorable experience. Going out on the waves and being able to catch a few of the most assertive fighting fish Surfside Beach waters has to offer while having fun at the lavishness of a well-appointed fishing charter is going to be a memory that is bound to last for a lifetime.
